Redden A Ranger

Here's the story on TSN.

Prediction (which is based off nothing but gut feeling): Campbell is gone to Chicago and the Sharks get Redden.

^^^ What an idiot. This day keeps better and better now eh?

Bah, you guys wanted Schneider anyway :P

So we'll probably trade him to Atlanta or something.

This has been a rough day all round for sharks fans.

I was sad to see Rismiller go too. Whilst he performs his role well for the sharks, he would have been great to bundle in with a trade with another team, instead of giving up a draft pick.

I am stunned at the silence from HP Pavilion. I understand the sharks don't want to over pay for players, and would like to be under the cap, My problem is it's getting hard to justify hiking up the cost of tickets if you don't want to put out the money to keep your current players on board or sign a free agent.
As I see it now, without completely changing the team through trades, the team is running out of bargaining chips.

I wonder if the lack of 'glamor' in SJ has anything to do with it? or whether players aren't comfortable signing for a team with a first year coach?

I wish I knew, but we didn't fare any better with Ron Wilson last year, so I doubt it's McLellan. Maybe the travel demands on the west coast teams makes them unappealing?

On the bright side? Last summer, Dallas (like San Jose) couldn't land any of the free-agents they targeted. They only went to the WC Finals. With that said, we need someone to lead the rush, and I don't think we can wait until February to fill that hole.
