Time To Pack Up Shop

Well, time to start looking forward to next year ladies and gentlemen. The Sharks lost 6-4 tonight in Anaheim, giving up four third period goals.

We're screwed.

On a lighter note, I've been brought on board Hockey Primetime, a pretty awesome site for hockey related news. If you're a semi-sane hockey fan, sign up on the site and get your kicks over there with me.

Most of the stuff I will be writing over there will be more "journalisty" if that makes any sort of sense, so I'm not leaving WBT (kind of a good looking acronym). I'll post links to articles I write over there so all you readers (read: lazy chumps) don't have to add another bookmark on your browser.

Go Sharks.

i don't think we're screwed. we looked good at the teal and white game. tonight's game only had a handful of sharks players and prospects, and greiss was in goal. it sucks that we lost, but with all our players and nabby in goal, i think we'll be better than we were last season. plus dan boyle and rob blake were badass at teal and white. friesen looked good too, and with mitchell out, he should get a spot.

go sharks, i got mad faith :]

Haha, I was being facetious Miss Caroline, but I like your outlook.

The season looks like it's going to be a fun one- can't wait for October 9th.

That's great you went to the Teal and White game- anything truly stand out?

ooh yes, very good. i thought you might be but wasn't sure :]

but yea, teal and white was great. the biggest surprise to me was that christian ehrhoff, paired with rob blake, actually didn't suck! usually i cringe every time he touches the puck but he pleasantly surprised me. they had a michalek-pavelski-cheechoo line which was the best line of the evening. pavelski was incredible. nabby was nabby, he looked as good as he should. some of the prospects looked pretty badass too.

and it was fun because i got there like 3 hours early to get glass seats :D

Where's that NHL '08 review you were toting?? I'm still looking forward to it.

Even bloggers need a preseason. Congrats on the new gig!

Caroline: Glass seats? Wooooooo. Ehrhoff with Blake? Hopefully Christian can get the puck on net this year- if he can that would be a good offensive line. For some reason I dont see Blake getting a lot of minutes at even strength though....

Anonymous: As you will learn soon, we talk a big talk around here but rarely adhere to our self imposed deadlines.

Long story short, get the game. It's truly amazing. I will try to get to the review sometime this weekend- if you want some short bullet points just email me at jasonplank@umail.ucsb.edu and I can shoot that your way.

General & Gray: Thanks! It's a pretty nifty site with some good perks that I will be using here as well.

Oh, and general- the goals that hurt the most are always those that come in the 7th period :(

I wouldn't worry about the Ducks game -- it was preseason, and they probably should have disallowed the Moen goal.

The bigger story was that Clowe got Bravehearted by Kent Huskins. Where did that come from?

Anyways, I'm really just leaving a note for Plank to remind him that I won't be at tonight's fantasy draft, but my pre-rankings have been set. Have fun tonight without me!

!!! I forgot to ask Mina if she signed us up for the Goon League. Too late now. Whoops!
